Blason, French for "shield" is a Belgian impressionist tapestry cushion cover piece inspired by the original herald of Scotland prior to King James I (VI to Scotland) who replaced the unicorn on the left with the lion as a gesture of unity between his new kingdom, England and his home kingdom Scotland.
Blason is jacquard woven, the backed lining is of a plush velvet with an invisible zipper closure that allows easy placement and removal of cushion inserts.
